Guitar   Models

I am currently building guitars in four size categories, ranging from a small, 13 1/4” wide, Grand Parlour-size, up to  a large, 16 3/16” wide, Grand Auditorium size.  All of my instruments are my original designs and shapes. I do not build copies of any of the classic 20th century Martins, Gibsons, or other makers. While I have great respect and admiration for traditional instruments, I have always nurtured the imperative to find my own way, combining what I see to be the best of tradition and modern innovation.

Every guitar I build is uniquely appointed. No two instruments are identical. I am not interested in making high-production, cookie-cutter instruments. My devotion to this craft continues to grow, as each new project results in an individual, one-of-a-kind instrument. The work never becomes boring or repetitive this way. Every new guitar build becomes an exciting new adventure!

Taking this approach, I am able to build between twelve and sixteen guitars per year, while maintaining the freedom to continually evolve and refine the designs, work out new engineering, advance my art and craft skills, and most importantly, build highly customized guitars that will become beloved musical companions to their owners for many years to come.

Each Edwinson guitar model has its own page here, with many photos, descriptions, and general specifications for you to look through. You will see quite a bit of variety in each model category, with a range of custom appointments, different woods, and stylistic embellishments. Double-click on the photos below to take the tour. I hope you see some guitars here  that pique your interest.

Stay tuned for the addition of a new model in the Edwinson Guitars lineup in 2014-

the EAC Athena Crossover,

a nylon-string, hybrid guitar, combining modern aesthetics, vibrant, jazzy tone, great ease of playability, and ergonomics similar to a 00-size steel-string guitar.

Photos and description will appear here as the project develops.
